About KhmerHealth
My Story
I created KhmerHealth because bilingual, culturally relevant health resources for the Khmer community were nearly impossible to find online. I'm a high school student with a deep passion for science and health, and I grew up watching family members navigate health information in a language that wasn't their own. I wanted to build something that would genuinely help Khmer families access the information they need — in the language they speak at home. My father helped with the technical side and shares my belief that a young person's commitment to community can make a real difference. This is my ongoing effort to be part of the solution — long before medical school, and hopefully long after. — Alfonso Tiu
My Mission
KhmerHealth is my commitment to improving health outcomes in the Khmer community through culturally relevant, bilingual education. I want to bridge the language and cultural barriers that prevent community members from accessing the health information they deserve. Health knowledge is power — and every person in our community deserves it in the language they speak at home.
My Vision
A healthy, informed Khmer community where no one is left behind due to language or cultural barriers. I believe that access to clear, trustworthy health information is a right, not a privilege.
Get Involved
KhmerHealth is a one-person project right now, but I'm actively looking for partners — Khmer-speaking healthcare professionals, community health workers, and civic organizations who want to help grow this resource. If that's you — or if your organization would like to link to khmerhealth.org and connect your community to free bilingual health resources — I'd love to hear from you.
